PhotoCAD API Terms

These terms govern use of the PhotoCAD API. They apply in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By creating an API key you accept them.

1. Your account and keys

API keys belong to your PhotoCAD account, are for your use only, and may not be shared, sold, or passed to third parties. You are responsible for keeping keys secret and for all usage under them — if a key leaks, revoke it in your dashboard immediately. We may revoke keys that violate these terms. Any PhotoCAD account can create an API key; your first key includes 5 free conversions, and continued use requires purchased API credits.

2. Acceptable use

Use the API to convert images you have the right to use. Don't use it to break the law, infringe others' rights, probe or overload the service, or resell raw access to the API itself (building it into your own product or service is fine — that's what it's for).

3. Credits and billing

• One credit converts one image into all available output formats. Re-downloading files for a completed conversion is free, at any size.
• Failed conversions are refunded automatically. You pay only for delivered drawings.
• Your first API key grants 5 free conversions, once per account. They are spent before paid credits, and a failed free conversion returns its slot automatically.
• Sandbox conversions (the sample parameter) return pre-generated sample drawings and never spend credits or free conversions.
• Purchased API credits never expire.
• Credits are prepaid and non-refundable as money, and have no cash value.
• API credits can also be spent on photocad.ai. Credits from website plans cannot be spent through the API.

4. Limits

Requests are rate-limited per key, and accounts may carry a monthly usage ceiling as protection against runaway integrations and leaked keys. We may adjust limits to protect the service; contact sales@photocad.ai if you need a limit raised.

5. Your output

You own the drawings you create. Outputs are licensed for commercial use, including deliverables for your clients. You may not resell or redistribute the raw output files as standalone digital products (physical products made from them are fine).

6. Service

The API is provided on a best-efforts basis without an uptime guarantee or SLA. Conversion is asynchronous and processing times vary. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practical.

7. Prices and changes

We may change prices with 30 days' notice by email. Credits you have already purchased are unaffected by price changes. We can reduce prices any time.

8. Data

Images you send are processed to produce your conversion and stored in your account so you can re-download results; you can delete conversions from your dashboard. We handle personal data as described in our Privacy Policy and comply with UK and EU data protection law. Details of our subprocessors are available under NDA for enterprise customers — email sales@photocad.ai.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability arising from the API is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes belong to the courts of England and Wales.
